Today and Tonight:
South winds gusting in the 35 to 45 mph range and low relative humidity will lead to very high to extreme fire danger conditions Tuesday afternoon, especially as you go farther west into Nebraska.
There is a chance for thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon, some of which could be strong to severe and capable of producing large hail, damaging winds, and tornadoes.
Higher chances for thunderstorms will be seen Tuesday evening as a line of storms is expected to move through portions of the area. Damaging winds will be the main threat.
Wednesday through Thursday:
Northwest wind gusts are forecast to exceed 40 mph at times Wednesday and Thursday, highest in northeast Nebraska.
The gusty winds combined with low relative humidity could lead to continued very high to extreme fire danger conditions, especially in areas that receive very little to no rain.
