The Nebraska Legislature failed to stop a filibuster of a bill that would ban abortions if the Supreme Court overturns Roe v Wade.
The cloture vote failed by two votes, 31-15.
LB 933 was brought to the full legislature when a seldom used ‘Pull Motion’ passed after the Judiciary Committee failed to advance the bill.
Paul Hammel reports in the Nebraska Examiner opponents led by Senator Megan Hunt called the measure an affront to women’s right.
