Lincoln Parks and Recreation is conducting a controlled burn in Wilderness Park near Pioneers Boulevard and South 1st Street. A portion of the park and the Jamaica North Trail connector from the parking lot will be closed until early on Saturday, April 2nd.
Controlled burns are a tool to manage large areas of native plants and grasses. Land managers are monitoring weather conditions and the air quality to ensure a safe burn.
The public is encouraged to avoid that area during the burn.
