Nebraska baseball had plenty of chances to leave Omaha with a win Tuesday night.

The (9-14) hit just 2-for-15 with runners in scoring position to score just two runs on eight hits, falling at Creighton (12-7) by a score of 3-2.

The Bluejays tried their best to help NU stay in the game. The Jays committed five errors, but Nebraska failed time and time again to take advantage.

In the top of the eighth inning and trailing by one, Cam Chick doubled to left field then advanced to third base on a passed ball. Max Anderson was hit by a pitch to put Huskers on the corners with no outs.

Griffin Everitt then struck out. So did Garrett Anglim. Then Luke Jessen couldn’t get the ball out of the infield and was thrown out at first, displaying in one inning the troubles for Nebraska in scoring runs.

It was a “Johnny Wholestaff” night for the Husker pitchers. Jaxon Jelkin got the start, going 2.2 innings and giving up a pair of earned runs on four hits.

Jackson Brockett gave up just one run in 1.2 innings himself, though it was unearned.

Tyler Martin, CJ Hood, and Emmett Olson combined to throw 3.2 innings of no-hit ball in their short stints.

Core Jackson went 2-for-4, notching the only RBI for the Huskers.

Nebraska stays on the road this weekend at Ohio State.
