Ezinma Is Featured Performer at Meadowlark Music Festival

By Karla James Mar 28, 2022 | 5:56 AM

The Meadowlark Music Festival is celebrating 20 years with a concert for the ages.

Event Director Hans Sturm tells KLIN News, “One of the things we discussed with the board was to try to bring someone or a group of people back to Lincoln who have gone out into the music industry and had done something amazing. One of the board members reminded me that Meredith Ezinma Ramsey was one of the early winners of the Meadowlark’s Larsen Young Artist Competition when she was quite young. She has gone on to be a star. She now goes by the name Ezinma and is most famous for being Beyonce’s violinist. She is going to be featured along with Omaha’s Grammy nominated Voice’s of Victory Gospel Choir on April 2nd in Kimball Hall at UNL.”

Sturm says after she graduated from UNL, Ezinma went to graduate school in New York. At that time, Ezinma started making Instagram videos of her playing the violin and that caught the attention of Beyoncé. Beyoncé then hired Ezinma to go out with her on tour and she was also featured on the “Lemonade” recording. Since then she has also worked with Kendrick Lamar, Stevie Wonder and a number of classical artists. Ezinma has also gone on to be an accomplished model.

While in Lincoln, string instrument students from all six high schools will gather in one location for a workshop with Ezinma on Friday. She will also work with some of the current UNL string students and will perform with them.

The concert is at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 2nd at Kimball Hall on the UNL City Campus.  For ticket information click here.
