Extra Lincoln Police Officers were out on the streets on St. Patrick’s Day for a special traffic enforcement operation to help reduce motor vehicle crashes, DUI’s and deter overserving in bars and restaurants.
A total of 62 alcohol compliance checks were conducted at businesses throughout the city that serve liquor. Following the compliance checks officers shifted to traffic enforcement detail. Officers made contact with 200 citizens. There were three DUI citations issued along with five liquor license violations.
