Two dogs died in a house fire at 1337 S 10th Street Monday afternoon.
LFR was called at 4:30 p.m. to a single dwelling, 1 1/2 story home. The fire started in a front bedroom and the cause was an overloaded extension cord.
No one was home at the time. A third dog was rescued from the home and LFR administered oxygen at the scene. That dog survived.
Damage to the home is estimated at $150,000 and loss of contents total $50,000.
