Lincoln Police are investigating a stabbing that happened around 8:15 p.m. Monday evening at an apartment building in the 2300 block of R Street.
Police say that 55 year old Michael Wert and a 53 year old neighbor had been at odds for several weeks. The two men got into another argument Monday.
Wert left the area for about 30 minutes and returned to the building and was kicking the door of the victim. The victim confronted Wert and was stabbed in the left arm and torso with a knife with a 2 1/2 inch blade.
The two men were still wrestling over the knife when police arrived. The victim was taken to a hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Wert was booked for 2nd degree assault and use of a weapon to commit a felony.
