Ricketts “Disappointed” With Foley’s Support Of Herbster

By Tom Stanton Mar 15, 2022 | 4:07 PM

There is a political divide among the state’s two top Republicans when it comes to the next leader of the state. While Governor Pete Ricketts supports Jim Pillen for governor, Lt. Governor Mike Foley is endorsing Charles Herbster.

“The Lt. Governor and I have both been around politics for a long time and I’m disappointed with some of his choices. For example, the choice of Herbster is a poor choice,” Ricketts said at a Tuesday afternoon news conference.

Ricketts is also supporting State Senator Mike Flood for Congress and Foley has endorsed incumbent Jeff Fortenberry.  Ricketts says he and Foley will continue to work together in the best interest of the state.

Ricketts reiterated his criticism of  Herbster for being late on property taxes and putting his company headquarters in Missouri and not Nebraska.
