The Seward County Sheriff has identified the three people killed when two semi’s collided early Tuesday morning on I-80 near Milford. Sheriff Mike Vance says both semi’s were occupied by a husband and wife driving team. The crash happened around 5:45 a.m. when one of the semi’s crossed the median and slammed into the other one.
Vance says the first tractor-trailer was occupied by 61 year old Carle and 59 year old Virginia Metcalf of Granbury, Texas. They were both pronounced dead at the scene.
The second tractor-trailer was occupied by 45 year old Gurminder and 49 year old Satvinder Melde of North York, Ontario.
Mrs. Melde was pronounced dead at the scene. Her husband was life airlifted to Bryan Medical Center in critical condition. There has been no update on his health status.
