The Criminal Interdiction Task Force stopped a Toyota Camry for following too close on I-80 near mile marker 401 at 2:38 Wednesday afternoon. During that traffic stop, investigators determined there was probable cause to conduct a search.
That search turned up 18.5 pounds of suspected methamphetamine, 40 grams of suspected fentanyl, used syringes, user amounts of suspected methamphetamine, and $2,620 in U.S. currency.
Judith Ann Deandrade age 37 of Las Vegas and Arica Marie Downs age 35 of Rumford, Maine were lodged in jail for possession of Methamphetamine with intent to deliver (more than 140 grams) and possession of money while violating NRS 28-416, or evading drug tax.
The street value of the methamphetamine alone is approximately $800,000. The value of the fentanyl is unknown.
