Keep a close tab on the weather for the next few days.

Brian Miller with the National Weather Service tells KLIN News, “There could be some thunderstorms around eastern Nebraska and southwest Iowa this evening into tonight. Those aren’t expected to be severe. During the day on Saturday, we kind of expect an increase in thunderstorm coverage and intensity. Potential for severe storms is the highest across eastern Nebraska between 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. It could be a bit sooner. Potential for the Lincoln area is maybe hail up to one inch in diameter and gusty wind with these storms. Not totally out of the question is a tornado or two with these storms but the chance of that is higher east of Lincoln in southwest Iowa and northwest Missouri.”

Those traveling north should keep tabs on the weather as well. Miller says there is potential for snow across northeast Nebraska Saturday afternoon into the night.

If you don’t like the idea of thunderstorms, wait a day.

Miller says, “A separate system comes out from Kansas and Missouri for Sunday afternoon into Sunday night that could bring some snow to parts of the area. Chances of accumulating snow his higher in Kansas and northwest Missouri but there is some potential for an inch of so of snow in southeast Nebraska.”

Miller says it isn’t unusual to have varying weather in March and it looks like we will see that over the next few days.
