La Vista Man Facing Threat, DUI & Assault An Officer Charges

A 26 year old man is facing charges after threatening to assault and kill his 48 year old girlfriend. Around 9:15 on Wednesday, March 2nd, Thomas Carodine and the woman were at the Super C convenience store at 501 West A Street and left in her vehicle.

Officers located the vehicle and attempted a traffic stop near 8th and A Street. Carodine took off on 8th Street and the offer did not give chase. Officers then heard a loud crash and saw that Carodine had crashed into another vehicle parked near 8th and C Street.

Officers rushed to the collision site. They located Carodine who became violent and ran from officers. He tried to bite one during a struggle but was eventually taken into custody. He appeared to be intoxicated and a DUI investigation was initiated. An open bottle of liquor was also found inside Carodine’s vehicle. He remained combative and uncooperative throughout the process.

Carodine was booked for 3rd degree domestic assault, attempted assault on a police officer, operating a motor vehicle to avoid arrest, resisting arrest, DUI – 1st offense, refusal of a chemical test, leaving the scene of an accident, no operator’s license and possessing an open alcohol container.
