Lincoln Police are investigating three armed robberies at convenience stores overnight.
The first happened at 11:40 at the Kwik Shop at 44th and Cornhusker. A man walked in, showed a gun and demanded cash. He then fled on foot. No one was hurt. Police did get some leads to identify the suspect.
Minutes later, Lincoln Police sere sent to the Casey’s at 48th and Fremont Street. The suspect was again armed with a handgun. While in the store he assaulted a female clerk and fired a round from the gun before taking cash and fleeing on foot. Police did confirm the same suspect was responsible for both robberies.
At 1 a.m., another armed robbery was reported at the Kwik Shop at 27th and W Street. The suspect assaulted and robbed a customer and took money from the store before leaving on foot.
Captain Max Hubka says, “We have some leads and some evidence we are still following up on. None of the injuries are life threatening. I think there is some traumatizing with these gas station clerks and we do believe these crimes are connected.”
LPD says they are trying to determine if a suspect matching the same description robbed the Quick Trip near 108th and L in Omaha around 3:00 Tuesday morning.
