Lincoln firefighters battled a house fire for a second straight day in extremely cold conditions. Crews were called to a home at 1644 West Q Street around 8:45 Wednesday morning.
“Upon arrival, we did notice an active fire to a single story residence,” says LFR’s Nancy Crist. She says the fire was located underneath the home in an eight inch crawl space. “We had to open up the floor inside the home to get to that active fire.”
Crist says the homeowner and a pet got out safely. The fire has been ruled accidental and damage is estimated at $50,000.
