Pieloch Pet Adoption Center Re-Opens To Public

By Tom Stanton Feb 15, 2022 | 9:02 AM

The Capital Humane Society’s Pieloch Adoption Center re-opened to the public on Tuesday.  Interim executive director Matt Madcharo says you no longer have to wait in the virtual que system that has been used for the past few months due to COVID-19 concerns.

“We wanted to get the building back open.  It also gets more people in, less hurdles for them to have to go through to adopt if they’re looking to adopt and gets more exposure for the pets ,” Madcharo says.

Madcharo says they went to the online system back in November because of the high number of COVID-19 cases. “At the end of the day the community donated to build that facility and it’s a welcoming environment where people can come and look for new pets so we wanted to get the building back open.”

Madcharo says they expect to see more pets adopted as people come back for in person visits. He says with the DHM still in place potential pet owners will have to wear masks inside the facility. He says the facility will be open Tuesday-Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 7 p.m. and on Saturday and Sunday the hours will be noon-5 p.m.

The facility will be closed on Monday
