Fire Departments from Malcolm, Raymond, Garland, Pleasant Dale, Valparaiso, Southwest Rural, and the U.S. Air Guard responded to a house fire at 13750 W. Bluff Road west of Malcolm around 6:30 p.m. Friday.
Lancaster County Sheriff Terry Wagner says the loss is estimated at $390,000. The cause was accidental due to a burn barrel too close to the home.
No one was home and there were no injuries reported. There were two animals, a cat and a bird inside the home at the time. Their outcome isn’t known.
The home was built in 2016.
