Former Nebraska cornerback Alfonzo Dennard has been arrested. He was booked by the Lincoln Police Department in the early morning hours Thursday for 3rd degree domestic assault.
LPD says the assault happened around 11:00 Wednesday night and involved his girlfriend, who suffered minor injuries. His court appearance is set for Thursday afternoon.
Dennard has faced issues with the law a few times since his All-American senior season for the Huskers in 2011.
In 2012, Dennard was arrested on suspicion of assaulting a police officer. In 2013, he was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence. In 2018, he was arrested after failing to appear in court for three misdemeanor traffic related charges then later on suspicion of assaulting a police officer.
