Two World War II era aviation icons, a B-29 “Superfortress” and the C-47 “Skytrain” will set the mod at the Strategic Air Command & Aerospace Museum for their annual “Swing Under the Wings” on Saturday, February 12th from 5 p.m. to 11 p.m.
Museum Deputy Director John Lefler Jr. tells KLIN News, “We are happy to bring back this signature event at the museum. It is a 1940’s USO show themed dinner and dance. We have the Lonny Lynn Orchestra performing. We have amazing fans. You will see the shirtwaist dresses, wide leg pants and zoot suits. Probably one of the most fun parts of the evening is we have the Jitterbugs, a dance team out of Omaha that comes down. Not only do they swing dance but they teach and give lessons. If you are not accustomed to doing this type of dancing we give you the opportunity to learn from the best.”
Along with the swing dancing and dinner, entertainment includes a red carpet welcome, cocktail reception, and vintage casino games in the Atrium.
Reservations are needed for this event. You can see more details and make your reservation at sacmuseum.org.
