By Karla James Feb 2, 2022 | 11:12 AM

A 14 year old boy was being transported from the Youth Services Center to Bryan East Hospital at 1600 S 45th Street around 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, February 1st for a medical appointment.

A 16 year old boy was waiting in the lot with a bicycle attached to a child’s bike trailer. When the 14 year old boy was being escorted from the parking garage to the hospital by the transport driver, the 16 year old yelled at the boy to get into the trailer. The 16 year old then took off with the other teen and the transport driver was not able to catch them.

Officers were called and quickly located the two teens in the 4000 block of Normal Boulevard. The restraints the 14 year old boy had been wearing had been cut off and were found in a nearby yard.

The 14 year old boy was referred for escape. The 16 year old boy was referred for aid and abet escape. Both were taken to the Youth Services Center.
