Lincoln Police were called to a home in the 1000 block of S. 30th Street just before 7:00 p.m. Wednesday after someone reported hearing a female had been stabbed. When officers arrived they heard a woman inside screaming for help. Sergeant Chris Vigil says officers forced entry into the residence.
They found the 32-year-old woman inside with several lacerations on her body. Officers were notified there was another person in the basement. Vigil says officers found a 37-year-old male hanging from a rope. Officers attempted life-saving measures until LFR crews arrived.
The man and woman were transported to a local hospital in critical condition. Crime Scene Technicians continue to process the scene for forensic evidence.
