The Lancaster County Criminal Interdiction Task Force stopped an eastbound RV with New Jersey license plates on I-80 near I-180 around 11 a.m. on Wednesday, January 26th for following too close and for driving periodically on the shoulder.
The investigators became suspicious of criminal activity and called for a drug dog to sniff the exterior of the vehicle. The dog detected narcotics and a search was conducted.
Inside the RV, investigators found 254 pounds of marijuana sealed in separate packages. They also found one kilo, or 2.2 pounds of suspected cocaine, $4,400 in bundled cash along with paraphernalia. The suspected cocaine has a street value of $17,000 by the brick and $150,000 if sold by the gram.
60 year old William Simmons of Woodbury Heights, New Jersey was booked on a number of charges.
