Nebraskans can now request free at-home COVID-19 tests from the federal government. Every home in the U.S. is eligible to order four free tests.
Dr. John Trapp is the Chief Medical Officer at Bryan Health and he says, “Typically home tests are the quick tests. These are antigen tests. After you have been symptomatic for about 24 hours those tests are very helpful. A positive test cam confirm what you likely already know as having COVID.”
Trapp says the rapid tests are not as helpful if you have no symptoms.
Go to covidtests.gov to order four free rapid antigen test kits. Only one order per household will be accepted. They will ship in 7 to 12 days through the U.S. Postal Service.
