Nebraska men’s basketball continues to face a tough season.

The Huskers (6-13, 0-8 Big Ten) used a 5-0 run to cut the deficit to 17-14 at the 12:41 mark of the first half, but that was the last time they would be within a single possession as Indiana (13-4, 4-3 Big Ten) never led by more than 10 on their way to the 78-71 win.

The game stayed within striking distance for its entirety, but Nebraska went more than five minutes in the first half without a field goal, and had a four minutes stretch without a made basket towards the end of the game.

Indiana, led by 23 points and 12 rebounds from Trayce Jackson-Davis, shot 54 percent from the floor and made 4-of-13 3s.

Nebraska shot 47 percent for the game, including 6-of-17 from deep.

Bryce McGowens scored a team-high 20 points, followed closely by 19 points for Alonzo Verge Jr.

In his first game back since Nov. 16, Trey McGowens played 21 minutes, scoring seven points to go with a pair of rebounds, an assist, and two steals.

Nebraska will continue searching for the first Big Ten win of the season, and first high major win of the year, Saturday at Ohio State. Earlier this month, the Buckeyes won 87-79 in overtime in Lincoln.
