The Lancaster County Sheriff says one person is dead after an early morning car fire near Denton. Terry Wagner says the initial call came in as a grass fire near SW 98th and West Denton Road around 2:45 a.m.
“Prior to deputies getting there another caller said there was a car on fire. When deputies arrived the car was totally engulfed in flames,” Wagner says.
“The driver’s door was open Wagner says the drivers door was open and a human body was found a short distance away.” The identity of the person has not been released. An autopsy has been scheduled. He says what caused the crash is not yet known and their investigation is continuing.
