Due to the quick spread of the Omicron variant of COVID-19, UNL is making several updates to their safety protocols for the Spring semester.
UNL will temporarily require face coverings indoors, including events, until further notice. They will continue to monitor the presence and spread of the virus on campus to determine safety needs moving forward.
UNL also will require one round of required re-entry testing for all students, staff, and faculty on campus. Those who returned to campus should test next week, January 9th through the 13th. Students who have a presence on campus are asked to test January 14th through the 21st.
The East and City Campus Union testing sites have expanded their hours January 14th through the 21st from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekdays and 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, January 15th and Sunday, January 16th.
Those who tested positive with a PCR test in the last 90 days can request an exemption. Students traveling back to Lincoln are required to test prior to returning to campus and to delay your returns if you test positive.
Those who test positive will be required to isolate for a minimum of 5 days. After the isolation and if the individual is fever-free with symptoms improving may resume activities but must wear a face covering around others. This is in accordance to CDC guidelines.
A vaccine and booster clinic will be held on Wednesday, January 26th.
