If you’re looking to get unused electronics out of your home Goodwill is hosting a recycling event this Saturday. Donations Acquisition Specialist Alana Sesow tells KLIN news they will accept anything that plugs into a computer, small kitchen appliances, hair dryers, curling irons, video game equipment, chargers and other items like hair dryers.
“Just no televisions, no microwaves and no huge appliances like refrigerators or washing machines or dryers.” She says working electronics will be sold in their retail stores to fund employment services in the community. “Like our job connections center downtown. We operate a retail organization employment program that helps people with disabilities get employed at Goodwill,” Sesow says.
“We help support other community programs in Lincoln that help people learn job skills and employment skills.” The items that don’t work will be recycled and made into new electronics. The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at their store at 45th and Vine.
