Forecast Snow Amounts Diminishing – Dangerous Wind Chills Remain

As the latest winter storm reaches the Lincoln area some forecasts are reducing the amount of total snowfall expected.  The National Weather Service early Saturday morning issued an updated summary which looks for peak snowfall from 7 am until 2 pm with the heaviest snowfall still expected in far Southeast Nebraska.

Dangerously cold wind chills are forecast into Sunday morning with some areas experiencing 30-below zero wind chills possible.

In Lincoln, a parking ban for snow routes, bus routes and major arterials went into effect at 3 am and a residential parking ban goes into effect at 12 Noon for even-numbered sides of streets.  The New Year’s Day 8:30 am Operations Update from LTU is available here 1-1-22 830 am LNK Winter Ops Update
