Lincoln Airport officials say they are starting to see flight delays and cancellations due to issues around the country. “We have heard it’s due to various reasons, whether it’s weather related. There are crew shortage issues right now because of the (Omicron) variant,” says Director of Communications Rachel Barth. “A lot of the airlines are short on crews and we are starting to see the impacts of that.
She says one late Wednesday afternoon Delta flight was canceled and they are seeing more flights delayed. Barth expects to see these delays continue for the next few weeks.
Barth says if you are traveling it’s best to check their flight tracker to see if your flight is still scheduled. Click here for the tracker. She also advises signing up for text messages from your airline so they can let you know if your flight is delayed or canceled.
Barth also recommends bringing a change of clothes and some personal items for your carry-on bag in case you get stranded at the airport and can’t get a flight out until the next day.
