Lincoln Police confirm the man who fled from NSP troopers in Lincoln on Christmas morning and crashed has now died. LPD says Ahmad Gregory of Lincoln was removed from a ventilator Monday night and died around 10:20 p.m.
Just before 1:00 Saturday Saturday morning a trooper tried to stop a Mercedes sedan for driving with no license plates near 27th and Vine streets in Lincoln. The patrol says the driver fled northbound on 27th street and the trooper initiated a pursuit.
NSP said the vehicle fled eastbound on Fair Street before turning northbound on 32nd Street. The vehicle then stopped near 32nd and Leighton. As the trooper attempted to make contact with the driver, he accelerated and fled again. The Mercedes turned southbound onto 31st Street and struck a parked car.
The patrol says the pursuit lasted less than two minutes.
