45 pounds of methamphetamine was seized during a traffic stop on I-80 in Seward County on December 17. The sheriff’s office says deputies stopped a tractor-trailer hauling eight vehicles at mile marker 379 around 10:15 p.m.
Investigators say deputies became suspicious of a 2021 Infiniti SUV located on the car hauler. The SUV was unloaded for further inspection and was found to be stolen out of California.
During a search of the vehicle, deputies found contraband concealed inside the SUV. Five pounds of methamphetamine was located in the speaker compartment and 40 pounds of methamphetamine was located in the spare tire. The street value for the methamphetamine is approximately $315,000.

A follow-up investigation is being conducted and so far no arrests have been announced.
