Saturday is National Wreaths Across America day. A ceremony will be held at Lincoln’s Wyuka Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. and local organizer Sheila O’Connor tells KLIN News volunteers are invited.
“We invite families, organizations, associations, anyone that wants to come out and be a part of that and we will lay over 1,800 wreaths at the graves of soldiers, veterans in the Military Circle.” She says it will take about 30 minutes to complete the process.
O’Connor says there will be a brief ceremony before the wreaths are placed on the graves. Lincoln is one of more than 2,500 locations across the United States and around the world to lay wreaths.
