The second annual Lincoln on the Move report was released Thursday by Lincoln Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird along with Liz Elliott, LTU Director and Shannon Harner, Co-Chair of the Advisory Committee on Transportation.
Lincoln on the Move is funded by the voter-approved 1/4 cent sales tax allocation for a 6-year term. It’s estimated to fund an additional $13 million annually for street rehab and new city growth areas.
In the first two years of the program, 25 additional projects were funded and completed that were over and above the normal street budget allocation.
One of the key future projects already in the design phase is the 33rd and Cornhusker project. A public forum will be held Thursday afternoon and evening from 5 pm until 7 pm at the Center for People in Need.
