Lincoln Public Schools is on the fast Track to hiring bus drivers and transportation paraprofessionals.
Transportation Director Ryan Robley tells KLIN News, “We will walk you through filling out the application. Once you get that done we will get you a transportation interview. Then we will take you to H.R. for an interview and set up a physical”.
Candidates should bring a valid driver’s license, Social Security card and have a valid email address. They should also have a resume that includes work history and phone numbers of former supervisors. Each candidate will need to provide at least three references and their email information so a survey can be sent.
Robley says they hope to hire between 15 and 20 drivers and another 20 paraprofessionals. He says, “They ride the bus. They assist the driver with hooking up wheelchairs or strapping in preschool children into car seats, and maintaining order on the school bus.”
Regular routes are available as well as substitute positions. Hours are typically from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. There is also potential for working mid-day. For potential drivers, LPS provides all training to obtain a CDL license and school bus permit. There is also a hiring bonus for opportunities to earn up to a $1,000 hiring bonus.
The Fast Track Hiring Day is Thursday, December 16th from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the District Office at 59th and O Street. Some qualified candidates could be offered a job on the site. Those interested can also fill out an application online. Click here for more information.
