The Strategic Air Command and Aerospace Museum will hold their 8th annual “Santa Goes To Space” on Saturday, December 4th.

Deputy Director John Lefler Jr. tells KLIN News, “Probably the coolest part of Santa goes to Space is our annual visit from the 5-1st Legion. We will have all of the Star Wars characters who will be escorting Santa to his throne he will be sitting in for the day. We will have Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Storm Troopers. We could very possibly have some droids there as well.”

Santa will be sitting in his custom sleigh. Lefler says, “The X-Wing is one of the fighter jets the Rebel Alliance uses. We have an X-Wing sleigh that our education team designed and built.”

There are plenty of activities to entertain kids and adults. Children can write letters to Santa and there will be make-and-take crafts. For the second year the museum will host their Makers Market that is full of unique gift ideas from local vendors. There is live music from the Heartland Flute Choir, Four-Omaha String Ensemble, as well as a dance demonstration from the Jitterbugs.

Doors open at 9 but Santa won’t arrive until 10. For more information click here.
