A 30 year old Lincoln man is facing charges after an accident on October 17th.
Lincoln Police and Lincoln Fire and Rescue were called to 27th and Old Cheney for an injury accident. A 2016 Jeep Cherokee had rear-ended a 2017 Buick Encore. A 33 year old male passenger in the Buick was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries but later was upgraded to serious condition. Both drivers were also taken to hospitals with serious injuries.
Officers determined the Jeep was eastbound on Old Cheney at a high rate of speed and rear-ended the back of the Buick. The Buick was pushed through the median and hit a pole on the north side of Old Cheney. The JeepĀ hit a tree on the south side of Old Cheney. Both vehicles were totaled.
Officers suspected the driver of the Jeep. Travis Tucker was under the influence of alcohol. His blood alcohol content tested .226, nearly three times the legal limit.
On Tuesday, November 30th at 5 a.m., Tucker turned himself into the Lancaster County Jail where he was booked for DUI – Serious Bodily Injury.
