A 23 year old man called police around 7 a.m. Tuesday to report that his pickup parked in the 6800 block of Dudley Street had been rummaged through.
The victim told police he had a Kimber 1911 .45 caliber pistol in an unlocked safe inside the vehicle. The gun safe was not in plain view and it also contained ammunition, paperwork and other items.
The victim believed he had locked his vehicle the night before but there were no signs of forced entry. The total loss is estimated at $1,570.
