Nebraska women’s basketball continued their hot start to the season with a 113-58 win over North Carolina Central (0-4).
The Huskers improved to 5-0 in part to the triple-double effort from Jaz Shelley. The Australia native and Oregon transfer posted 14 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists in just 20 minutes of action.
Just shy of her own triple-double was Allison Weidner who stuffed the stat sheet with eight points, eight rebounds, and eight assists.
Ashley Scoggin had a game-high 19 points. Other Huskers scoring in double-figures were Annika Stewart (15), Issie Bourne (13), and Kendall Coley (11). All 12 players that saw the floor scored.
Sharing the basketball has been big for Nebraska in the early portion of the season. The Huskers handed out 28 assists Saturday to just 13 turnovers.
Nebraska shot 53.9 percent for the game and made 14-of-28 3s.
The Huskers have now topped the 100 point mark three times this season, already a school record only five games into the campaign. The 113 points is tied for fourth-highest in school history.
Next up is the first road trip of the season as Nebraska heads to The Dana on Mission Bay Holiday Tournament in San Diego, California. The Huskers play Drexel Friday and then get either San Diego or Fresno State Saturday.
