Lincoln police responded to a report of shots fired in the 14th & D area shortly after 2:30 Monday afternoon.

LPD Captain Max Hubka told KLIN News responding officers heard 3-4 gunshots as they arrived in the area.  They then saw a group of people on the ground pointing to a man who was struggling with another man over a handgun.  The officer joined the struggle and was eventually able to pry the gun away from the suspect.

According to Hubka an earlier argument lead to the gunfire.  He says the witnesses reported that the suspect pointed a gun at a victim and said he was going to kill him.  He then pointed the gun up into the air and fired some shots.

The suspect, 29-year old Dadreon Mason, was taken into custody and faces multiple charges including resisting arrest, making terroristic threats and possession of a weapon by a prohibited person.  Mason has been convicted on multiple felony charges in the past.

There were no injuries.
