Lancaster County Health Director Pat Lopez says interest in vaccination clinics for children 5-11 years of age has been high and appointments are filling up.
“Most of the clinics are pretty full (this week) for Waverly and Norris, but there is still some space available and some space for Northeast High on Saturday,” Lopez says.
She says at their first clinic last Saturday at Lincoln High 1,5oo doses were administered. All of the clinics for children require appointments. Pediatricians and pharmacies are offering the vaccinations also.
Lopez also stressed that Pfizer, Moderna and Johnson and Johnson booster doses are also available for all adults who were previously vaccinated. So far about 40,000 Lancaster County residents have received booster doses.
There was no change this week in the Risk Dial. “Due to the increase in new cases, our high positivity rate and our strained hospital capacity, the Risk Dial remains in the low orange category.” That means the risk remains high for the spread of the virus in the community.
On Tuesday 91 patients were hospitalized in Lincoln and one additional death was reported, a man in his 20’s.
