It will be a busy Thanksgiving at the People’s City Mission in Lincoln. Pastor Tom Barber says they will serve sit down meals Thanksgiving Day to 400-500 guests at their shelter.
“In addition to that we have between 500 and 1,000 turkeys with all the fixings for people who are struggling financially at out Help Center.” Barber says the price of their turkeys is going up and he’s asking Lincoln residents to help fill those Thanksgiving baskets with side dishes like green beans, boxes of stuffing, instant mashed potatoes, yams and cranberry sauce.
Donations can be dropped off at the Help Center at 68th and P. He says anyone who wants to get a turkey basket can come to the center and sign up.
