The toughest five game stretch of the regular-season is over for No. 9 Nebraska (17-6, 11-3 Big Ten), and it took a toll on the Huskers record.
No. 7 Ohio State controlled the match Saturday, sweeping Nebraska 27-25, 25-21, 25-23 . It was the third loss for the Huskers in five matches, and the second time being swept over that stretch.
Madi Kubik had a match-high 18 kills on .400 hitting. No other hitters added double-figure kills or hit above .200.
Nicklin Hames dished out 28 assists to extend her rally-era record.
Ohio State outhit Nebraska .230 to .203.
For the season, Nebraska has now been swept three times. The last time that happened was in 2019 when Wisconsin swept the Huskers thrice, including in the NCAA Regional Final.
The Huskers haven’t been swept this many times in the regular-season since having it done four times in 2014.
Nebraska returns home Friday to host Maryland.
