A traffic stop ended with the arrest of 58 year old James Gusich at 1st and Cornhusker Wednesday evening. A Lincoln Police officer saw a 2005 Chevy Trailblazer fail to signal a turn and conducted a traffic stop.

When Gusich was asked for his driver’s license, the officer saw two bags inside his wallet that are typically used for narcotics. The officer also saw a package of syringes on the dash.

Gusich was asked to get out of the vehicle but refused. Officers then opened the door to take him into custody and saw a fixed blade knife with a 5 1/2 inch blade hidden under the driver’s side floorboard. Gusich also had 15.8 grams of methamphetamine on his person. He was booked for possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine, failure to comply and failure to signal.

Gusich is also a convicted felon so was booked for possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person.
