There is $500,00 damage to a home at 8201 Jones Avenue. Lincoln Fire and Rescue were called to the home around 10:23 p.m. Saturday night. Firefighters made quick work of the fire and it was under control at 10:45 p.m.

LFR says the cause was a propane gas tank from fire pit too close to the house. Two adults and two children were displaced from the home and no one was hurt.

LFR reminds homeowners to leave plenty of space between your home and your fire pit, both propane and wood. Portable fire pits need to be 15 feet from all structures, including homes, garages, storage buildings, and fences. In-ground fire pits need to b located 25 feet from structures.
