A 34 year old man is recovering after being stabbed several times in the torso Thursday afternoon at 48th and Dudley. Police were called to that area around 2;30 p.m. but could not locate a victim. The victim later showed up at a hospital with serious injuries.
He told police he was riding in a vehicle when another passenger he didn’t know stabbed him several times. Police talked to witnesses who were able to identify the suspect as 32 year old Jacob Hodgdon. He ran from the vehicle immediately after the stabbing. A knife was found in the vehicle the victim arrived at the hospital in.
Hodgdon was found about a half hour later near 44th and Madison. He was taken into custody without incident. Hodgdon is a convicted felon and prohibited from having weapons. He was booked for 2nd degree assault, use of a weapon to commit a felony and for possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person.
The victim remains hospitalized.
