Lincoln Police are investigating the theft of a woman’s car from the area of 12th and H Street just before 8 p.m. Wednesday. Officer Erin Spilker says the 24-year-old woman reported that she was approached by a man while walking to her car.
The man cornered her and demanded her car keys. He then left in her 2008 white Honda Accord, Nebraska license plate 29-K499. The vehicle is valued at $4,000. Officers processed the scene for evidence, canvassed the neighborhood, and are searching for video.
Officers are trying to determine if that theft is related to an attempted theft in the same area around the same time. A 58 year old woman reported that while getting into her vehicle near 11th and G she was approached by a man who demanded the keys to her vehicle.
The woman ran into a nearby restaurant and the man fled the area on foot. Police are asking anyone with information to call Lincoln Police at 402-441-6000 or Crime Stoppers at 402-475-3600.
