A Lincoln Police officer on patrol at 13th and E Street saw a woman walk out of an apartment building and approach a man around 6 p.m. Wednesday night. She was seen yelling at the man and then lunged at and assaulted him. When the officer walked toward the woman, she ran back into the building.
The victim, a 48 year old man reported the woman pulled a knife and threatened to kill him. The officer was then told the woman was trying to escape the building out of the back door. The officer found 20 year old Riane Ward and took her into custody without further incident.
Officers searched her backpack and found a glass pipe with residue that tested positive for methamphetamine. Ward was booked for terroristic threats, possession of a controlled substance and 3rd degree assault.
