A wanted man is behind bars after a traffic stop near 70th and Leighton Friday night. Officer Erin Spilker says neighbors reported someone driving erratically through the neighborhood in a pickup around 8:30 p.m.
Officers located 30 year old Cody Ryan in the pickup and learned he had an outstanding felony warrant. As he was taken into custody, officers located an item in Ryan’s pocket that was identified by the fire inspector as an illegal explosive device. Spilker says the item was homemade and intended to explode upon impact with a hard surface.
Ryan was also driving on a revoked license. He was arrested for his outstanding warrant, Possession of a Destructive Device and Driving while Revoked 2nd Offense.
