Lincoln Police were called to Big Red Storage at 4911 S 14th Street around 5 a.m. Monday, September 27th to investigate a suspicious person in the area. A caller reported a man was walking inside the property fence with a sweatshirt over his head and was carrying a duffle bag.

Officers saw a man matching that description inside the gated and locked facility near campers and vehicles. The man ran when he saw police but was caught a short distance away. They searched the area and found a duffle bag, a reciprocating saw, several saw blades and two catalytic converters. Officers also found a section of the fence that had been damaged to gain entry into the property.

31 year old Chance Heble was arrested for felony possession of burglar tools, This investigation is ongoing.

Officers were notified that a catalytic converter had been cut off a company vehicle parked in the lot of Lincoln Mattress Company at 4815 S 14th Street around the same time. Officers processed the scene and searched the area. They are in the process of analyzing video evidence to determine if this is the related to Heble’s arrest.
