A domestic argument sent Lincoln Police to a home at 32nd and West Sumner around 9:00 last Thursday morning. Police arrived and contacted a 38-year-old woman who reported she left the residence after an argument with her boyfriend, 38-year-old Mikhael Laravie.
Officer Erin Spilker says as she was walking to her car, Laravie threw a large rock at her. She fled the residence but when she returned later, she saw Laravie standing inside with a pistol tucked into his waistband. LPD says Laravie pulled the gun from his waistband, held it near his chest and started yelling at the woman, who believed Laravie was going to shoot her.
Lincoln Police officers responded and made voice contact with Laravie. Due to statements he made to officers and his prior threatening gestures with a firearm, members of the Lincoln Police Department SWAT Team were called in to assist in talking with Laravie.
After several hours of negotiation, Laravie was eventually taken into custody peacefully. No one was harmed during this incident. While serving a search warrant of the residence investigators found a handgun with two loaded magazines and one shotgun.
Laravie was arrested for Terroristic Threats, Use of a Weapon to Commit a Felony, and 3rd Degree Domestic Assault.
